北京时间8月9日凌晨消息，周一美国股市大幅下挫，道指下跌超过630点。评级机构标准普尔公司史无前例的下调了美国信用评级，令投资者感到恐慌，国债价格大涨，黄金(1726.30,6.30,0.37%)期货价格突破1700美元。
美东时间8月8日16:00(北京时间8月9日04:00)，道琼斯工业平均指数下跌634.76点，收于10,809.85点，跌幅5.55%；纳斯达克综合指数下跌174.72点，收于2,357.69点，跌幅6.90%；标准普尔500指数下跌79.92点，收于1,119.46点，跌幅6.66%。
美国总统奥巴马发表了关于经济问题的讲话，他表示“美国将永远是AAA主权评级国家”。受其讲话推动，道指一度回升至11000点以上，但很快就失守。今天盘中道指最多曾下跌超过605点。市场分析师人士称，一旦标普500指数下跌到1096.46点，将是该指数转熊的标志。
人家是转熊标志，可怜的是A股从未到过牛。
一直认为其实美国和中国的资本市场关联并不是很大，原因在于A股曾经于美国股市大涨时岿然不动；现在终于看清了，关联太大了，只能哀其不幸怒其不争！！！

24日22点43分，7.23甬温线特别重大铁路交通事故发布会召开。铁道部新闻发言人王勇平在发布会现场公布了伤亡数据：7.23甬温线特别重大铁路交通事故共造成35人死亡，192人受伤。

据“7·23”甬温线特别重大铁路交通事故善后处置工作组发布的消息，截至7月31日18时，已经有19名遇难者的家属签订了赔偿协议。
7月29日，“7·23”事故救援善后总指挥部公布经研究决定，以《中华人民共和国侵权责任法》为确定事故损害赔偿标准主要依据的新标准，遇难人员赔偿救助标准调整为91.5万元。
记者7月31日从鹿城区有关部门了解到，截至当日15时，共火化了9具遇难者遗体；在院治疗的106名伤者，有5名伤员拟出院，正在协商理赔事宜。有2名伤员拟转院到福建，正在安排中。据了解，在院治疗的106人中，有危重患者6人、重症患者20人。
在此前一天公布首批旅客及家人申报遗失物品清单后，7月31日上午，“7·23”甬温线动车追尾事故善后处理工作组公布了第二批清单，请求社会各界和广大市民朋友共同帮助寻找。
